Adult Personal Care
At Gentle Hands Home Care, we know that living independently is something that no one wants to give up. But, everyone needs a little help sometimes. We provide elder care, as well as, post-surgical and disabled personal care for all ages.
The most common type of home care worker is a Personal Support Specialist (PSS). A PSS is someone who is hired to assist with day-to-day living activities in your home. While they are charged with ensuring that you live in a safe, clean, and caring environment, they are also required to respect your choices, as long as those choices do not put your, or their, health or life at risk.
Their duties often involve tasks such as light housekeeping (doing the dishes, cleaning the home, doing laundry, dusting, and other such activities) and meal preparation. They can also provide you with assistance getting in or out of the tub or shower, and dressing.
Although we cannot administer medications, our Personal Support Specialists also will help you put a system in place to ensure you take medications on schedule and on time. We use proven tools and methods to build the habit of taking prescribed medications per your doctors’ instructions.
Are you recovering from a surgery and need help with Range of Motion exercises? Our staff can work with your surgeon, physician, and/or physical therapist to help your through these rehabilitating tasks.
We provide quality care at an affordable price. When you schedule your free consultation, we will assess your needs and come up with a daily or weekly schedule from which to base our fees. Unlike many other agencies in the area, we have an ability-based sliding scale for private pay clients, as well as the ability to bill some insurance companies.
